Tuesday I had the pleasure of meeting with my drawing buddies, Susan and Joan. We went to the Wild Animal Park located in Escondido (North County San Diego). I spent most of my time sketching the gorillas.  This is a spread in my Moleskine Cahier - gorillas drawn in marker.

Paper mache Hotei and cow

I finally finished my paper mache Hotei, One of the seven Gods of Happiness.

He is distinguished by his big belly, which is thought to indicate largeness of soul and an inward wealth of resources. He is an open minded optimist and always happy.

I also finished painting my cow.

Poway Lake

Ducks at Poway Lake

It must have been feeding time for the ducks at Poway Lake. I sat down at the entrance of the dock area to wait for my friends and was immediately surrounded by hungry ducks.
